The Company has now brought latest BlackBerry Z30 in India today and launched this phone for a price of Rs. 39,990. Yes the price is a little steep and is similar to launch price of BlackBerry Z10. The phone has a 5 inch 1280 x 720 pixels Super AMOLED display which will give you good contrast and darker darks. BlackBerry’s concept of a phone without a QWERTY Keypad which we also saw in Z10 is better suited on larger display in Z30 which will provide with Better BB10.2 experience. The BBM 10.2 roll out will soon begin for Z10 as well. This phone is powered by a Qualcomm Dual core processors clocked at 1.7 GHz and is assisted by Adreno 320 GPU, which we have seen in Snapdragon 600 SoC in phones like HTC One. As Apple has proved time over time more cores does not mean better performance. The RAM capacity is 2 GB which is sufficient for high end gaming and multitasking. It remains to be seen how BBM 10 uses this resources but we expect the performance to be smooth. Primary Auto- focus camera is of 8 MP and is capable of recording 1080 p Full HD videos at 30 fps. The front camera of 2 MP is capable of HD video recording and will give you good video calling experience. BlackBerry Z30 comes with Stereo sound and improved Antenna technology for better reception of signals. The BBM Hub will also continue to attract BlackBerry fans as it presents all social networking notifications and messages in one place. The battery capacity is 2880 mAh and the battery is not removable. The back cover however is removable and you can extend the 16 GB on board storage to 64 GB using a MicroSD card. Connectivity features include NFC, 3G, WiFi, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB OTG support. BlackBerry announced a 1 billion loss from its unsold Z10’s which are now available for around 26,000 INR after receiving several price cuts. BlackBerry Z30 comes with premium body design but does not offer anything that stands out above the rest. Lumia phones have managed to carve a niche for themselves owing to good built quality and best Camera features in spite of a not up to the mark Software. Most people will be hesitant to invest in a phone when the Company’s future is full of uncertainty. With BBM for all, many people will switch from BlackBerry to other platforms. The Phone will be available from Next Week in India at Rs. 39,990. EMI option will also be available to assist buyers.
