Design and Build
The design shares semblance to LG G2 along with the rear key. The phone is 9.8 mm thick and weighs a moderate 121 grams. The phone felt good in hand and the back cover provided a nice grip, even better than LG G 2. The thin bezels we appreciated on LG G2 have made their way to LG G2 as well. The 4.7 inch IPS LCD display doesn’t make it exactly ‘Mini’. The display resolution is paltry qHD 960 x 540, but call it LG’s expertise in creating beautiful LCD display, the color calibration and brightness more than made up for the lack of pixel density. The display however was not as bright and crisp as the one we have seen in Moto G.
Camera and Internal Storage
The primary camera has an 8 MP sensor capable of 1080p video recording. We would have to test the camera under outdoor conditions to be sure of the image quality. In our initial impression the LG G2 Mini camera performed just fine with good details and average noise under low light conditions. Considering an expected price tag (we are guessing) of above Rs. 20,000 INR, the camera will be an average offering. The Internal storage is 8 GB and can be further extended to 64 GB using MicroSD support. The storage is decent enough and will be sufficient for most basic users.
Battery, Operating System and Chipset
The battery is rated at 2440 mAh which sounds good enough. LG has not mentioned the backup you will be able to squeeze out of this battery. The operating system is Android 4.4 KitKat and while LG G2 featured every software feature you could think off, some of it has been transferred to LG G2. The chipset is same as the one we saw in Galaxy Grand 2 and Moto G. The Snapdragon 400 chipset backed by 1 GB RAM didn’t show us any lag at launch event, but we expect more smoothness from mini variant of LG G2.

Conclusion
LG G2 Mini is a decent phone, but weather it is good value for money will be decided when it actually hits the shelves. Moto G is offering same chipset with a better display and average camera at only 13,999 INR, a price tag which will be tough for LG G2 Mini to match. USP is the LG G2 like feel on the outside. Let’s wait and watch if LG can price this one right.
