Design and Build
The LG GPad 8.3t has a a rectangular design with rounded off edges which make the device easy to hold. It features a premium build quality with a brushed metal back and a plastic boundary around it. It will attract fingerprints for sure but the tablet feels good to hold and the same makes you feel as it is a premium tablet. So if you can live with the fingerprints every now and then, the tablet will surely not disappoint you. Its main competitor has a plastic body which also feels premium to hold but then you’ll have to decide between a no-fingerprint plastic body or a brushed metal body that attracts fingerprints.
Camera and Internal Storage
It gets a 5MP camera at the rear without a LED flash and the same is joined in by a 1.3MP front camera which will facilitate video calling and self portrait shots. The primary camera will come with a support for 1080p video recording whereas the front snapper will be capable of recording videos in 720p. The LG GPad 8.3 gets an internal storage capacity of 16GB which can be expanded further with the help of a microSD card by another 64GB. It gets a 2GB RAM which will aid your multitasking needs.
Battery, Operating System and Chipset
The GPad 8.3 is given the juice to run by a non-removable 4,600 mAh battery unit that will give you plenty of hours of usage dependent on what content you use it for. Expect it to last for about 5-6 hours of constant multimedia usage. It runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and its Google Play Edition runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. We probably won’t be getting the Google Play edition but we are pretty sure that LG will give the regular edition a KitKat update in future. It derives its processing abilities from a Qualcomm APQ8064 Pro Snapdragon 600 chipset which gets a quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 as its CPU and in-charge of the graphics department is an Adreno 320 GPU. So you can expect top notch levels of performance from the device but not as high as a Nexus 7(2013).
